Bands of Holy Week
These bands form part of the procession together with the Penance floats, accompanying them along the entire route. Some of them have a junior or infant section.
In the style of the old band of the Guardia Civil Commanders of Eritaña, they usually accompany the floats of “Christ” or “Mystery”. The compositions are fundamentally written for the trumpet, but also include other instruments such as the trombone, tuba, flugelhorn, bugle and cymbals.
In the style of the old National Police Band, they accompany the floats of “Christ” or “Mystery”. The fundamental base for their compositions is the bugle, although other types of brass instruments such as the trumpet and flugelhorn are also played.
Generally speaking they are in charge of the musical accompaniment to the “canopy” floats and play the procession marches most typical of the Virgin Marys’ floats. These are full-scale brass bands, comprised of trumpets, flugelhorns, tubas, trombones, saxhorns, saxophone, and flutes. There is a woodwind section (clarinets, oboes and bassoons) and also bugles and drums.
